Masters Walleye Circuit — Big Stone Lake 2027
The Masters Walleye Circuit comes back to Big Stone Lake out of Ortonville, May 21–22, 2027. Two days of team walleye fishing on the border lake, after a few years away.
The Masters Walleye Circuit is coming back to the border. Its 2027 schedule puts a two-day team qualifier on Big Stone Lake out of Ortonville, Friday–Saturday, May 21–22, 2027. The circuit says it’s “great to return to Big Stone Lake after a few years away” and that it’s working again with the Big Stone Lake Area Chamber of Commerce.
MWC has run its team-format walleye circuit since 1984. Two anglers to a boat, two days of weights, and the top teams move on to the World Walleye Championship on Lake Winnebago in October. Big Stone in late May means walleyes that just finished their post-spawn nap and are ready to eat, plus a long, skinny lake where the wind gets a vote on every decision. If you’re not fishing it, a weigh-in is a fine excuse to drive out to Ortonville and watch grown adults get nervous about a scale.
Fine print: MWC lists the 2027 schedule as “pending permit approvals from the various agencies.” Launch site, take-off and weigh-in times, entry fee, and registration aren’t posted yet. Check the circuit before you hitch up.
